Depending on status, newly hired employees earn up to 168 hours per year. This accrual increases based on specific anniversary milestones.

Professional Development

We offer on-the-job training, AICPA, WICPA, MNCPA, other professional training and development courses, manuals, in-house seminars, and a professional library. Eligible employees who wish to sit for the CPA exam may enroll in the Becker Review Course. We provide the support CPAs need to continue their license.

Jump-Start Your Career

Maria IdekerIf you are new to your profession, Hawkins Ash CPAs will provide you the variety of experiences you need to choose the direction you want to take your career. Our recent graduates and interns aren’t stuck in the corner filing papers, but are on the front lines working alongside senior staff, ensuring you get the most exposure.

Internships

Our firm utilizes interns in audit, tax, IT, human resources and marketing functions. If you are currently attending college, we’ll create a work schedule that fits your needs.

Our internships are paid, part-time or full-time engagements. Audit and tax internships last for the duration of one busy season (Jan. to April 15 for tax and Jan. to June 30 for audit). These internship openings are posted after Sept. 1 for the following year’s busy season. Other internships occur during the summer break.

Many of our interns have been offered full-time employment and build their careers at Hawkins Ash CPAs.

Recent Graduates

As a recent graduate hired at Hawkins Ash CPAs, you’ll receive professional training and support to jump-start your career and prepare you to excel in your profession. Many of our recent accounting graduates prepare for the CPA exam with time to study at work and enrollment in Becker Review Course. Our recent graduates enjoy the benefits of full-time employment including Medical Insurance, Paid Time Off and 401(k) plan.

Hands on Learning for College Juniors and Seniors

Hawkins Ash CPAs internship program is a paid program that offers hands on learning for students in their junior and senior year of college. Program graduates have been offered full time positions within the firm, have earned their CPA designation with us, and have advanced to leadership and partner positions.

Interns work through busy season assisting in the preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, trusts, and personal property and the workpapers to support their work for these clients.

 

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Have the working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Be enrolled in college and working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Have Junior or Senior standing.
  • Exhibit fundamental knowledge of technical and professional principles/skills of accounting.
