Changes to Minnesota Minimum Wage Law

Effective January 1, 2018 the minimum wage for Minnesota is increasing to reflect the adjustment for inflation. Following is a table showing the increases from the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry website:

A large employer is a business with annual gross revenue of $500,000 or more. There are both state and federal minimum wage laws. The employee is entitled to the higher of the two minimum wages when an employee is covered by both the state and federal minimum wage laws. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25/hour. Starting January 1, 2018, large employers will need to increase their minimum wage to $9.65/hour under Minnesota law.
